It’s what everyone’s talking about…

The frozen planet beautifully captured by the BBC, highlights better than I could in words, why such a landscape and the wildlife it’s home to is a worthy interest “beyond imagination”.

(You can watch Frozen Planet on iPlayer)

Featured in this first episode is the southernmost active volcano on Earth, Mount Erebus, which is about 20 miles away from my Antarctic HQ, the Scott Base. You can also witness the formidable Transantarctic Mountains, where I’ll be camping for 3 weeks.

Thought the Arctic and Antarctic were just cold and icy? Bet you’re wanting to take a closer look now.
